Jury statement

What attracts the jury to Felix Klee’s practice is his use of both new and traditional media in communicating his critique and proposals. The artist employs a certain reverse irreverence in examining anthropocentric relationships with non-human life. Based on his portfolio, his artistic investigations excite us – particularly in how he surfaces knowledge and experiences from other geographies and milieus, combining them with more accessible references from gaming, consumerism, entertainment, and daily life.

The jury believes that his tools can be more effective and long-lasting when immersed in other creative technologies of art production. We look forward to following his practice and his collaborations with non-human agents of the world as he disrupts our normative ways of seeing.
